Distillation
![]() |
APV markets distillation technologies globally and has more than 65 years of experience and a long reference list within the following industries:
|
Furthermore, APV has in-house cross-technology capabilities in conjunction with membrane filtration, evaporation, and spray drying.
APV operates globally in the distillation field and has a dominant market position with:
- Low alcohol beer and wine distillation plants with aroma recovery
- Combination of evaporation and distillation in the fruit juice industry
- Distillation systems to the US pharmaceutical industry
- Large pre-assembled distillation plants in the USA.
How does APV Design a Distillation Plant?
APV draws on a vast knowledge base established over the last 65 years and uses the latest process simulation software when designing the plants. On top of that APV also has the ability to perform laboratory test work, when required, in order to:
- Obtain basic design data when not available
- Confirm computer simulations
- Investigate effects of impurities
- Test for potential problems such as fouling
- Optimize design.

Pre-assembled Distillation PlantsAPV uses the concept of modular construction. The distillation plant is constructed, piped in large modules and then transported to the customer's site where it is quickly assembled. This concept has had great success in the USA. The advantage for the customer is, of course, that the installation time is reduced significantly. This minimizes both the cost and the disturbance to plant operation. Furthermore, if the customer should decide to move the plant, it is much easier to dismantle and transport it to the new site. |
Typical Distillation Process
- Solvent recovery
- Chemical/petroleum production
- Steam stripping of waste water
- High vacuum distillation of flavors
- High pressure ammonia recovery
- Aroma recovery from evaporation applications
- Low-alcohol beer
